Jeff Selke, Artist

Having retired in 2011 after over 35 years as a union cabinetmaker, Jeff is now following his passion of creating handcrafted art and traditional furniture. He has extensive training and professional experience in the art of woodworking, including apprenticeships at the Amana Colonies in Iowa where he built furniture by hand. Some furniture was sold locally at the Colonies, and much was shipped all over the U.S., Europe and Asia, often with a two-year waitlist. He also spent over ten years creating handcrafted wood designs at the Jumer's Castle Lodge in Peoria, Illinois. His current and past clients continue to value the unique style and craftsmanship he puts into his furniture, bowls and display art pieces.

"Most people are not fortunate enough to be able to spend their lives making a living doing what they are passionate about. I was able to do something very close. Now that I've retired, I now spend my days creating and building one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and bowls, and loving every minute of it."
